This is an engineering-first organization. If you are a dev, you're in good hands and can make mistakes and learn from them without living up to unreasonable expectations. The benefits are nice.

Let's start with the people managers. They are absolutely awful. We have no idea how to grow and promote our internal talent. Next, we do not offer competitive pay outside of engineering. We allow people we have recruited from outside the organization to bring 'talent' with them, who are some of the most disorganized and negative people I have ever worked with. You'll see a previous post about this place being a poison apple, and unfortunately, a lot of those scenarios are true. We still have people on the leadership team who have used unfortunate language or publicly blamed other employees for mistakes, and have seen no sense of ownership or regret for their poor decisions. I could go on.

To help continue to build a positive experience, we regularly ask a number of questions to gather feedback on our People Leaders through our employee survey platform, TinyPulse, as well as our annual organizational culture survey. Where we have identified areas of improvement to focus on, we are proud that our annual survey indicated that employees had improvement in interactions with People Leaders over the past 12 months. If you or any employee have questions about how we monitor the market to offer competitive salary, we have resources that are accessible by all employees and we encourage you to speak with your direct manager or HR if you have questions about the process for a specific role. We run an annual review of changes to the labor market, the economy and adhere to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) in order to maintain competitive pay across all departments. We’re happy to talk through the process. Additionally, we hear your concerns about leadership. The current leadership team embraces the responsibility that we have to our employees, our clients, and the communities we serve. We strive to be an accountable and responsive organization and understand that we have an opportunity for continued growth and acknowledge that we aren’t perfect. - leadership team cares about maintaining strong culture and values - active employee engagement in things like culture committee - leadership team that cares about listening to employee feedback - focus on improving diversity & inclusion through hiring and employee experience as well as in its product to reduce health inequities - flexibility to WFH during COVID-19 - honest and fair HR policies regarding compensation, performance reviews, peer feedback

- not enough people with strong healthcare understanding, from who buys and why to what do healthcare workflows look like on the ground to healthcare integration standards, which makes executing on vision a lot more difficult - struggles to innovate based on new, valuable problems to solve vs. using cool tech - very young employee base, often first job out of school so no external references as to best practices for their department, how different roles should work together, etc. - a lot of first time managers trying to figure out how to scale the company - under resourced a lot of the time

Thank you for the comments and feedback. Healthcare is an interesting space and understanding the workflows and integrations of our clients is key to creating a better patient experience. We need to continue to find ways to share this industry knowledge as we grow. In addition, we need to pay attention to the balance of goals with burn out if a team is under-resourced. In 2021, as we continue to responsibly scale, we will keep investing in the areas of the organization where we needed to support our clients and drive Happy Patient experience.
