Vantaggi

Potential to make good money Learn what not to do in a sales process Grow as a person and understand what you value in life Cold calling skills will sharpen

Svantaggi

Incredible micromanagement Inexperienced management Regional management does not care about your success regardless of what they tell you Training is subpar Expense budgets for clients is a joke Very limited PTO I am not disgruntled, but I am writing this because I wish I had honest feedback before joining. I evaluated long and hard before coming to Paycom. In the end, I made the mistake of chasing the money (or the potential to make big money). I had other great options but was blinded. I had success in previous sales roles at other companies and wanted to continue making big money. For me, paycom was absolutely toxic. You will be treated like a child, and will not be trusted for a second. Inexperienced management AND regional management will hinder your success. All paycom cares about is paycom. It blows my mind how the Glassdoor reviews are so high. The actual product is pretty good. The issue is all internal, and it starts from the top. I’ve been micromanaged before, but this is a whole new level. Metrics are virtually unachievable. The strategy from what I gather is holding as much leverage against you as possible so you can be let go at any time, for any number of reason. Don’t expect a stable job here. You truly will have to sell your soul to have success here. In the end, I left because life is too short to be demoralized. I would never recommend this company to anyone I remotely cared about. Understand that the management and people recruiting you are salespeople. Don’t get sold unless you truly understand what you’re diving into.

Thank you for acknowledging that you were given the opportunity to evaluate long and hard before accepting an offer at Paycom. Our goal is to ensure at every step of the interview process you are both hearing and experiencing the expectations and fully understanding that in a highly compensated consultative B2B sales position there will be a lot of work required, especially in the first year. Our training is very intense and the accountability we place on performance coupled with high standards drive the financial opportunity you referenced being your appeal. We are disappointed that Paycom was not a long term home for you but we do wish you the very best in your future career search.

Vantaggi

- Base salary - PTO - Awesome colleagues - $1 Medical PPO offering

Svantaggi

- Upper leadership seem to not value the operations department as much as they do with sales. They are not consistent as well, which causes them to change the entire department's job description, expectations, & commission structure every few months. Change is good but huge change every 3-4 months is so exhausting. - They overload you with too many clients to handle while increasing the number of internal calls. When asking for support from sales or middle management, its typically a hard negotiation or non-existent. Expect to work way over 40 hours/week and juggle 10-20+ clients at a time. - Sales will oversell on product & implementation expectation which makes the job 1000% harder. Turnover with sales is extremely high so don't expect for even the best reps stay as they either leave, get fired because quota was not met, or the new manager will cut them if they're "not the vibe". You get left with the newbies who does not know how to sell or support you when you need them. - Every role in this company has high turnover in general. Making it very hard to cross collaborate with other departments as everyone is either extremely swamped or new to the role and cannot support as well, - Being forced to go to Oklahoma for training every year, sometimes twice a year.
