Vantaggi
Most of the people are nice and the remote work is great.
Svantaggi
Paylocity has leadership problems that they’re unable to come to grips with. Every day when I open LinkedIn, I read about another colleague who has accepted an opportunity elsewhere. The mass exodus is not limited to just individual contributors but includes managers and directors too. There are many reasons for this, including burn out and compensation. Did I just say compensation? Between 2019 and now, my salary has increased just 3%. Our CEO, Steve Beauchamp, has enjoyed over a 100% increase in compensation during the same time, going from $7.18 million to $14.98 million. Steve froze all salaries and the company 401k match at the onset of Covid in 2020. A year later, he gave everyone a $1k bonus, a free t-shirt and said in a company meeting that’s equivalent to the raise that we would have all received in the first place. Meanwhile the company enjoyed double digit growth during the darkest days of Covid and is currently growing over 30% each quarter. This success is not shared with employees. There are no bonuses and salaries across the organization are far below market. Executives refuse to answer questions about compensation changes at employee meetings. We have a salary transparency tool that shows market data, but the company has not updated this data because the disparity is so bad.
