Vantaggi
• Excellent people • Fantastic working culture • Transparent information and decision making at all times Part of Peak's mission statement is 'to build a company where everyone loves to work'. In my time at Peak, there wasn't a day that I didn't truly believe this was as important to everyone as the other business objectives. During my time there, I was constantly empowered, trusted and supported to thrive at Peak, and effort was well recognised and well rewarded on a regular basis. Peak were constantly supportive of my needs to care for a partner with a disability, with excellent provisions put in place to support this diversity of need. I never felt excluded or deprioritised due to this extra consideration and support, and in fact felt support to care for my partner at all times. Peak also *constantly* asks for feedback. Not just from team members to management, but peer-to-peer. Regardless of whom this feedback was from and to, the best thing about Peak (for me) was a genuine sense of having this feedback heard, listened to and acted upon. A small, but consistent example of this was during our monthly managers' update from SLT. Very consistently the CEO would deliver a presentation, due for presentation to the wider business the very next day, and ask for any feedback. Every single month I watched feedback from myself and others be directly incorporated into the next day's presentation, helping to make the information being delivered more easily understood and/or going into greater detail. This commitment to constant feedback, transparency and trust was by far the best thing about working at Peak, and something I'll miss in future. This even applied to the information about recent layoffs felt as though is was conveyed as clearly, quickly and honestly as possible - despite obviously not being a pleasant situation for anyone.
Svantaggi
• Peak had a culture of "yes and..." which often led to too many priorities competing, coming from a place of wanting to take every opportunity. Replacing this with "yes, but we'll have to drop x..." would make a world of difference in the future. • The scale of the pivot from Data Science consultancy to AI platform to fulfil the company's mission of democratising AI was clearly initially underestimated.
