Vantaggi
The only things that kept me at Per Scholas for a long as I stayed was 1 ) my coworkers were amazing! We really supported each other ( even those who were in other offices across the US, they were always willing & eager to help you 2) I really enjoyed working with the earners and seeing how the program changed their lives.
Svantaggi
1) High turnover and TERRBILE management. "Leadership" was unsupportive , only offered fake words of encouragement and then they start mistreating you / toss you aside once they've overworked you and have gotten all they can out of you. 2) Untrustworthy "Leadership" : Avoid confiding in anyone that's in a management/ leader position cause they will twist & use your words against you . Every organization had office politics but this place was ridiculous. So many amazing staff members were fired or pushed to quit because they were too outspoken or did not "play along" 3) Lack of effort put into staffs professional development : I never had a conversation with management about my career goals etc. until I was already working there for over a year (and I had to initiate the conversation) 4) The pay was UNACCEPTABLE for the amount of work employees did (certainly did not match the cost of living in this area) - many staff members worked side jobs or had to get into low-income housing programs. 4) Lots of favoritism , bullying, passive aggressive behavior from supposed "management" - especially those staff members who used their their "title" to get their relatives into the program . I would only recommend working here if you're desperate or have no intention of staying for more than a year.
