Vantaggi

At a surface level, Percolate is a well funded young startup with a lot of potential. Marketing team pumps out an abundance of great collateral Young company with lots of talent Great office space Frequent and fun company events

Svantaggi

Speaking specifically to the business team at Percolate, any position within that part of the company is an incredible career risk. All senior management come from backgrounds other than SaaS software. The company's early success have led them to a point that leaderships touts as "hyper growth period". Realistically this is anything but true. That growth trajectory is stagnant, and along with it Percolate has over hired in almost every business team position. Management is clearly flustered that their growth processes are ineffective. Clear lack of understanding basic revenue growth, forecasting, territory assignment and CRM strategies. Tenured members are exempt from criticism and evaluation by leadership, even if they are underperforming, while new hires are under a microscope and subject to ferocious micromanagement. Those on the "inner circle" win account disputes and receive leads (which have come to a halt). I'd even been told by a manager that finding and exploiting "loopholes" is admired by execs. Sales professionals that are hired into Percolate land in a new territory that is incredibly difficult to support quota requirements. Ramp is measured based on arbitrary (and unattainable) number for meetings. Even when solicited by management, honest feedback is received by leadership to a founder level as whining or complaining. They will gladly tell you to leave the company.

We're disappointed you feel this way and your experience at Percolate wasn't as positive as we wish it could have been. We'd also like to address several inaccuracies in your review, as well as some ongoing changes we've been working on to continue to make Percolate a better and better place to work: 1. "All senior management come from backgrounds other than SaaS software." This is incorrect. For example, our VP of Engineering, Sudhakar Kaki, has over 18 years of experience at Oracle, Siebel Systems and IBM, and our VP of Business Operations, Michael Dzik, spent 10 years as an SVP in the Technology, Media & Telecom practice at GLG, where he worked directly with enterprise CIOs and technology buyers. We plan to continue to hire (and promote) based on vision, merit, leadership and results. 2. "The company's early success have led them to a point that leaderships touts as "hyper growth period". Realistically this is anything but true." We opened 5 new offices in 2014 in London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and Chicago and, based on our operating metrics as of the first quarter of 2015, we are one of the fastest growing software companies in the world. The #1 reason we have so many open job requisitions -- and are adding new ones weekly -- is because we need more talented, exceptional people to join our team to keep Percolate growing. 3. "Sales professionals that are hired into Percolate land in a new territory that is incredibly difficult to support quota requirements. Ramp is measured based on arbitrary (and unattainable) number for meetings." Every sales territory is thoughtfully designed to be fair and provide a base of high quality accounts. Our average deal size and average proposal size has consistently increased over the last 6 months, and we are also consistently seeing more global expansion deals within existing accounts. We also provide a 2 week dedicated, hands-on sales training curriculum for all new sales hires, parter of a larger 24 week professional development program. 4. "Even when solicited by management, honest feedback is received by leadership to a founder level as whining or complaining." We send out a monthly Employee Pulse survey where employees can (anonymously) submit feedback or complaints about anything they'd like. This feedback is very carefully reviewed (and responded to) by all senior management at Percolate, and has led to a lot of projects, process improvements and efforts to improve our culture and work environment.
