Vantaggi

some good people trying to make a difference. New CEO has good intentions amazing legacy

Svantaggi

Benefits are horrific. - PTO has been taken away from management below VP. Managers and Directors are out of luck at Petco. - Individual contributor PTO is so minimal and does not roll over. - Healthcare cost is higher than any large corporate employer in SD. - Only SVP and VP control Petco Park ball games perk. No racial diversity in IT leadership. White dominated IT management at VP levels. No African american or Hispanic representation in IT management. - VP and SVP levels all white. - Director level in IT ALL white. If you are african american or hispanic, forget aspiring above director level in IT. - Petco IT will hire white women VPs but NEVER hispanic, NEVER african american. - Petco IT hires cheap resources from third world for pennies on the dollar and they attempt to pass it off as racially diverse workforce. Thus, maintaining the white dominant leadership. Managers and directors in IT have zero authority to make decisions. - Purchases over $1000 require VP authority. - Hiring requires VP authority. - Employee disciplinary action requires VP authority.

Vantaggi

DM is a good person who genuinely wants to support the stores, but unfortunately he’s also caught in the middle of all this chaos.

Svantaggi

Literally EVERYTHING! • Extremely limited payroll stores are frequently staffed with only two employees for an entire day, which is not sustainable. • Leadership appears disconnected from store level operations, with little clear direction. Initiatives often feel reactive, as if decisions are being tested without a consistent long term strategy. • Expansion into non pet related products raises concerns about the company’s financial health and overall focus. • Workload is overwhelming, with planogram changes happening frequently sometimes multiple times within the same week. • IT systems are unreliable, and when issues arise, store teams are expected to find workarounds rather than receiving timely support. • Animal care no longer seems to be a top priority at the corporate level. Current setups (e.g., “Desk Pets”) appear inconsistent with the company’s own care standards and guidelines.
