There is a lot of focus on upselling and getting customers to sign up for a subscription service. It does not matter if you beat targets for grooming, store sales, and dog training if you did not sell enough subscriptions. You will be constantly hounded and "coached" on how to do better. Salon targets can be unrealistic and create an unsafe work environment for both employees and pets. Oftentimes, we're not able to take lunches because our days were too busy, and individuals are not given control over their schedule. It is a corporation, and the idea is to make money to be profitable for the shareholders. In the end, Petco does not actually care about any individual. You're useful to them as long as you are pushing yourself to the extreme and willing to crash and burn."
