Great company, supportive management, fun place to work - Recensione dipendente - Dipendente anonimo presso Placeable

I worked at Placeable for about 2 years, up until the Ignite acquisition when all of engineering was forced out. Placeable used to be a great place to work, with a whip smart engineering team, laid back office culture, and good location in the RINO neighborhood. The tech stack was great and I learned a lot working there. Unfortunately that all ended when we were acquired at the end of April.

My only complaint pre-acquisition was that engineering salaries were a bit under market, but this was understandable considering the intangible perks (unlimited PTO, very lenient work hours, etc). Ignite acquisition resulted in about half the company being laid off, and surely most Denver-based employees will be gone through attrition soon. The office is shut down (all employees 100% remote now) and the culture we all enjoyed is gone. I'm writing this more in memoriam than anything else.

Teamwork - This word gets thrown around a lot, and it can mean a lot of things. At LocationInsight there is a culture of collaboration. My experience has been that everyone is here to help get it done, regardless of what it is. No one has an "it's not my job" mentality here. Culture - People here are very easy to get along with, professionally and personally. I heard more laughter in my first week on the job than I have heard working a year at some other companies. Location - Great neighborhood. I particularly like riding my bicycle to work, as do several of my colleagues. Great when you want to catch a Rockies game after work. Outlook - I believe that we are poised to take off. I joined LocationInsight because I saw an opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a company with tons of potential. We are realizing that potential everyday.

Start-Up - Sometimes it can be tough working without processes, but I remind myself that I am here to build them. Office Space - Not the movie, the environment. Open cubes and high ceilings can make phone calls tough. The execs are working on a solution, but the issue has yet to be solved. Another problem is there are not enough offices to accommodate management, another issue being worked on. Coffee - Starbucks? We can do better.
