The innovative vibe that sells people on the product, or coming to work for them, is just that...a vibe. There is no substance behind it. The product is anything but innovative and all of the investment is made for sales (making more money) than actually innovating and delivering on their product capabilities. The operational management and delivery is questionable at best with the brut force of tribal knowledge to make the system work as it was sold.
Executive leadership is a network of old friends, with no room for new thoughts or ideas. If new ideas or recommendations are brought to the table, they are viewed as a threat and the person bringing them forward is ridiculed or chastised either openly or behind their backs. While the culture is supposed to be open and friendly, it is actually toxic and backbiting.
