Things were good but changed after the new CTO came in. I had to fight each year for a raise. The other developers did as well. The first year he came in I had to threaten to walk after being strung along for 2 months for a promised raise. The same thing happened the last year. Promised a raise by my manager. I was given excellent performance reviews. I was strung along for 2 months before being told the CTO stepped in and declined my raise. After being pressed to pay my PTO out he said he would do be a favor and pay it out. He legally had to so I'm not sure how it was a favor. Typical mediocre upper management whose most creative tools are wage suppression and offshoring. The CTO doesn't even know how to use the product. Software side is understaffed leading to stressful sprints. CTO believes that software does not drive the company so the department gets little support. They will grind you.
