Vantaggi
Giving credit where it's due, the management and employees are very welcoming. Flexible schedule with notice. Partial remote for employees.
Svantaggi
The gossip can be overheard through every office door, so if you're working on a project in the office you can find out who is being fired or renewed. "Oh they're going to fire her" is commonly said. Often, the culture around training is "I don't have time to train you" and proceeding to be angry at employees who can't learn Planon's specific process entirely on their own. When people make mistakes, they are yelled at. Employees often support multiple departments, which means some support goes to 4 different departments without increasing their pay. Management has a tendency to break contract law by treating contractors like full employees including inviting them to team dinners, giving them a Planon laptop, giving them access to multiple proprietary softwares, and telling them what their schedule is. It's important to note that this violates American contractor law because it would entitle our contractors to full time benefits, which they won't pay out for risk of paying too much to contractors. I believe Planon has good intentions, however most employees are out for themselves and it creates a hostile culture. Additionally, they don't prioritize resources whether someone is supporting 2-4 departments after they did a lateral transfer in the company, and should really understand how paying someone a meaningful wage goes a long way.
