Weird Place - Recensione dipendente - Dipendente anonimo presso Poolhouse

Now, I DO think it’s possible to “enjoy” your time here (ex. If you’re Caucasian, have no passion in your career, and enjoy lack of communication). That communication part is probably the most egregious. I mean, even back to DAY ONE. I didn’t receive a passcode to get into the office. After some time, I wiggled my way in to be greeted by two other NEW employees from another office, unknown of my hire. After more time passed, I finally met someone who can explain to me what is going on. To fast-forward a bit; I then got a hefty load of work dropped on my lap with limited direction (foreshadowing). Despite that rush of projects, I felt things were picking up. “This ain’t too bad”. Then BOOM. Co-owner disappears for 3 weeks on vacation. Not a big deal but when he returned the vibe was totally off. The leadership in that office was non-existent and I personally felt uncomfortable going to work. After that, things were a blur. Would do work – no communication/direction – Finish – told it was not the right “vision” – hand off to external forces. Taking initiative and inserting myself into meetings didn’t work. Speaking up to people who can do something, made no difference. I also just felt out of place. I personally don’t agree with the Republican part of the job, but I have dealt with similar environments and haven’t really had a problem. I want to clarify a previous thought, but I want to be careful with this subject. Now, you don’t HAVE to be white to work at Poolhouse, but everyone kind of is. It’s a small company, so I get it. If you want to feel apart of the group, I think you’ll be better have coming from a specific economic background. This is just my opinion. I don’t know if my discomfort here was completely due to those differences, but I for sure felt excluded. All this to say. This company sucks. The vibe is weird and culture seems forced. They don’t treat their employees poorly, they just treat them like...uh…nothing. This company is out to make money (which isn’t a bad thing). I am just saying, don’t expect to be valued or fulfilled (if you actually care about what you do). Prepare to be collateral damage for problems in upper management. Prepare to walk blindly into projects and office changes. Also read other 1-star reviews for more REAL information about the company.
