Vantaggi

Free lunch once a month, and decent benefits.

Svantaggi

PowerObjects seems to be a very confused company that has experienced growth and lost sight of their own core values. The company is a lot of hype and no follow through. They hook inexperienced prospective employees with false promises. They prefer to hire employees with less qualifications than the industry standard and pay much less than industry standard. They do not do regular employee reviews and will play favorites when it comes to promotions and raises. They continue to hire new consultants even when current employees are struggling to get billable hours and create a kill or be killed environment. All the awards, free lunches and benefits all look great on the outside but the company will manipulate you into thinking you are getting a great opportunity. Once you dig deeper and realize the facade you will be hoping for an easy way out. You will be at the mercy of their leadership team who will promote their friends and cut everyone else short. They use the term "lateral move" to manipulate employees to take a promotion without a pay increase. I would highly recommend thinking twice if you are interested in PowerObjects everything you see on the outside is not what it seems.

Vantaggi

Good for people who are fresh out of college or have little to no consulting experience. Company pays for exam vouchers Work from home option

Svantaggi

- There is no career advancement or growth opportunities unless you are well “connected” with the leadership team. - No formal review process until very recently, still working out the kinks. Otherwise you would need to explicitly ask for feedback and comp review. - You are put on projects because you are available (there is little to no consideration for your skill/experience level or familiarity with the technology or industry involved). This means you will be figuring out everything on the fly - the client will suffer as a result and you’ll be extremely stressed until you roll off. - There is a very toxic culture and environment that started to develop as soon as the former company owners left. HCL took over full authority and as a result the PO that people used to know and love no longer exists. It’s all about the bottom dollar and your utilization. You are not a human, you are a robot. - Sadly a LOT (and I mean a lot) of very brilliant and talented resources left in the last 2 years. If you are a competent and smart person, you will be left uninspired... many people who butcher their projects somehow keep getting put on projects, do not produce quality work and have no attention for detail.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. It is correct to say that we have had many people come into entry level positions and move along strong career paths. Although a few of our Consultant-in-Training (CIT) programs have hired directly out of college, the majority of have come in with relevant work experience. We are definitely focused on upskilling our internal employees and value work/life balance. We recently adopted and fully embrace the formal HCL performance review process, which we know people have been asking for. We have seen this as another way to keep the lines of communication open throughout the year. For our projects, staffing is based on skill set and availability, with the ultimate goal being excellence in project delivery. While there are times we ask an employee to learn on the job, such requests are supported by upskilling initiatives and mentorship. As you rightly point out, PowerObjects provides educational opportunities and fully supports those who take the initiative to avail themselves of these opportunities. We believe our culture lives with our people. Of course, we are not the small privately held company we once were. It would be unreasonable to expect that we would be. As part of a $10bn global company we can and do now provide a much larger set of opportunities for those employees willing to work hard and seize them. We have amazing employees who make this a great place to work. We would like to note that the attrition described in your comments is significantly overblown and is not out of line with industry standards. Many organizations experience attrition, particularly in times of great change, and we are no exception. But our attrition has been quite manageable as we continue to hire for new positions and backfill open positions, more often than not from within the company. We do appreciate your feedback and thank you for the time you spent with our organization.
