At this moment there is nothing but disadvantages at PowerToFly. They say they work to make the world a more equitable place for minorities, but they aren’t even truly equitable with their employees. They like to hire people outside the US for lower job titles to pay the minimum possible, and they keep them as contractors and without any benefits. On the other hand, to the American employees they hire living in other countries, they do provide better options like payment via Remote.com with all the benefits that come with it. This is clear discrimination and inequality. Also, there has been already three rounds of layoffs and the employees morale is low. The lack of direction and good leadership are going to sink this company. The CEO claims to care about the people, but in reality she doesn’t. She leads with emotions and not with strategy, she lacks empathy, doesn’t listen to her leadership team, and makes one bad decision after another without taking into consideration how that could affect the business. The built a product that doesn’t have product market fit and that just doesn’t work right, and I genuinely believe this company won’t be around much longer. If you’re considering joining this company, just don’t, you’ll regret it.
