I really appreciate the amount of personal attention and direct engagement I have with management. I feel like they genuinely care about my career growth here and want to see me succeed. The perks are great; the two company events they host each year are really fun and have great prizes and the PMs and executives go out of their way to show appreciation for hard work.

There is always a risk when you are employed with a contractor whose revenue is dependent on the Federal Government. So if the Government is shut down, your company is not allowed to send you to your project. The one difference with Powertek is that we were able to borrow against a leave bank where other employees and managers donated their unused PTO hours for individuals who would have to take LWOP.

Fellow coworkers on the contract were friendly and reasonable people. Insurance options for vision and dental were appreciated.

Powertek failed to send my resignation email to HR with a months advance notice. I informed them of my intent to take my last week of PTO in the email, which they acknowledged. Thursday, the week before my last week, they informed me that HR has given a mandate that I cannot take the last week, and they moved my end date to Friday the next day. They refused to allow me to donate my excess PTO which was set to be used for the next week, and refused to give me a copy of the employee handbook on request, since they ended access to the company intranet. They will adhere to their legal obligations, but will otherwise try to avoid working with you when they stand to benefit. Such as to avoid paying out over 40 hours of PTO.
