Pratt has a collegian environment even if it is a big company, people are divided into much smaller groups where the manager in your immediate group is led by a technical manager. So the end-result is that, groups are very focused on the core technology. The company tries to be as transparent and accommodating to its employees. There are Jr. engineers who start and lead multidisciplinary projects. Advancement for engineers come quickly for those who want to stay on either the technical side or the management side.

Pratt & Whitney is a huge company, so expect the internal company politics that comes with the territory. Like all other UTC companies, employees are expected to drink the UTC-ACE, 6-S koolaid (read: many motivational speaking conferences). It might be frustrating at times to deal with volumes of bureaucracy and paperwork to push your idea through, if you are the self-starter type.
