My team and direct manager are amazing and deserve so much better! Flex Time off is nice but currently we are drowning in so much work that it’s hard to use it without coming back even more stressed!

Where to even start? As mentioned in the “pros” Patient Experience is currently overwhelmed with no end in sight. Because of this the quality and attention we are able to provide to clients has started to decrease. Senior leaders could have anticipated the increase in workload and allocated resources appropriately if they had any idea what our jobs actually entail. Rather than hiring new resources (not to mention backfill positions from people who have understandably quit) to accommodate the increase in work they continue to make up vice president level positions. Then they fill these positions with people who have absolutely no idea how to actually support us. Middle managers are stretched so thin (in part due to mass lay offs) that they do not have the time to support their teams. Senior leaders are excellent at spinning the truth and telling you what you want to hear. They are terrible at keeping their word. They have apparently created a few skill development opportunities like a coding class for example, but again, we are so busy I have no idea how we would have time for things like that if and when they are available. Plus let’s be honest, the only way to maybe get a raise or promotion is to threaten to leave and have friends in high places. We were told we would be staying remote and many of us planned our lives around that. We planned childcare closer to home, got lower mileage leases on cars, and overall enjoyed more work life balance! Then we were suddenly required to return to office. But only some of us have to actually follow this requirement. Only some of us have to add hours to our day commuting to an office just to sit on Teams meetings where half of the team is working remotely. I don’t think coming into the office to complain about how terrible Press Ganey has become and laugh at the honest Glassdoor reviews is the “culture” return to office was expected to create.

If you want to get your hands dirty with healthcare policy or hospital system strategy, the Consulting and Advisory teams do some legitimately interesting work. The data access is also a massive plus—if you’re a Data Scientist, you won’t be hurting for data to work with.

Instability is the Norm: Constant, unexplained layoffs have created a pretty paranoid atmosphere. Management doesn’t handle change well, and people are always looking over their shoulders. Frankenstein Tech Stack: The company prefers buying new companies over fixing the ones they already own. This leaves you with a core product that's basically held together by duct tape and technical debt. Sales often sells a "dream" that the current tech just can't actually do. Broken Integration: There’s zero effort to actually merge the cultures or systems of the companies they buy. It’s just a revolving door of new names and fragmented processes. Management Deflection: When things go south, leadership tends to point fingers at junior staff or "reorganize" rather than taking any responsibility. The "Bonus" Trap: Don't count on your full package. Bonuses are rarely funded above 70% (it's often less), which effectively feels like a hidden pay cut.
