Layoffs in 2022 were handled in the most unprofessional way I’ve ever seen in my career so far. Management don’t seem to have their finger on the pulse when it comes to real problems in the company. Teams are stretched so thin and working to crazy deadlines. Sometimes those deadlines are pointless as the product gets delayed or even cancelled with very little notice at all. It feels that your career basically stalls working here as most of your time is spent solely on finding issues in the code and working on legacy things. What’s worse is that large scale issues that take cross team collaboration are never really tackled properly and so, get worse over time. The culture can be quite toxic and the work life balance really isn’t there for the most part, long hours are pretty much the norm rather than the exception.
