Basically he uses fear and intimidation to 1. get employees to perform and 2. make them doubt themselves and their abilities so that they are afraid to go anywhere else. Every once in a while he will say something nice and support to keep you guessing. It's a huge mind game designed to make you feel uncomfortable at all times so that you are easily manipulated.
