The regular colleagues are good people. The industry they work in should be fairly stable in the long run, so if they can fix the underlying problems the business is probably sound.

Management are horrific, denying staff opportunities for advancement to further their own agendas. They demand loads of unrewarded work from you, hours beyond your contractual requirement. Next to no training or development opportunities, and you get humiliated by management for even asking about it. Middle management relies on bullying, humiliation, and fear to keep control, and push you down to make themselves look better to senior management. Senior management are oblivious to conditions for customer facing staff, they have little to no practical interaction. They arbitrarily impose strategies they invent with no input from staff who understand either the products or the customers, and then blame customer facing staff for those strategies failing. Business is going down the ******* because senior management are failing and covering their own behinds. The products are old, unreliable, and over priced for the current marketplace. Also the company used to have an excellent social culture, but senior management have absolutely destroyed that. They refuse to trust their employees, or invest in them.

We have social teams representing each office that create social programmes that reflect the requests they get and, when we can, several offices come together to deliver shared social activity. As a result, this activity has helped to raise money for good causes, improved team working and generally put a smile on people’s faces!
