Overall, the benefits are good and you get a decent amount of time off. Most of the managers are relaxed and I like the quiet office space.

There seems to never be enough work and too many people, some phases of projects make some departments busier, but they don't seem to take into account the workload when hiring someone. Training also isn't clear since there isn't work to be done and there are lots of people that should retire and just won't. The pay isn't great either so it's easier to leave so that you have purpose and can get paid more.

Great group of guys. Great competitive wage. Benefits are decent.

Management is very incompetent. Foremen of different trades find working against eachother more important than helping their guys get things done. Management never has a clue what is going on on the different jobs and heavily relys on the journeymen to carry all the weight, and they do not do anything to help out to make the jobs easier. Ridiculous timelines to push jobs out without giving the proper information or materials to get things done properly, but any mistakes fall back on you. Little to no time given for the senior guys to give any kind of training to new apprentices or new journeymen. High expectations that everyone should know exactly how to do things. Overall there needs to be a management overhaul. If a few key people keeping the electrical department afloat, the department would crumble and the management incompententcies would be fully exposed. No opportunities for advancement, unless you're part of the boys club you will never move up, with threats of job termination if you try to move elsewhere within the company. A lot of bully tactics used for management to get their way.
