Some staff and partners create a toxic environment where exploitation feels constant. Employees are overworked and underpaid, with feedback that’s often limited to “you can do more” or “you can do better,” yet rarely offers real guidance on what or how to improve. No matter how much effort you put in, appreciation is scarce.
It’s disheartening to see those who contribute less—but excel at self-promotion—advance more quickly. Favoritism is widespread, and if you’re not comfortable with office politics, this may not be the right place for you.
Despite claims of diversity, the environment doesn’t truly reflect it. Being from outside the U.S. can put you at a noticeable disadvantage.
