Vantaggi
- Generally relaxed work environment -- nobody really cares when you come or go. - Decent perks/benefits, although compensation isn't that great when you consider the terrible value of your stock. - Untracked vacation at a place where people actually take time off.
Svantaggi
- There is no direction or long-term strategic vision for the company from the top down. The CEO more or less admitted as much saying that there was no unified road-map agreed on by executives for the past year. - Because there is no unifying, top-down vision, the company is extremely disorganized and there is no plan for long-term sustainability. Instead, management chases the latest hot-button issue and throws all resources behind that issue, ignoring everything else. This results in decaying infrastructure receiving little to no resources and various groups working on projects deemed "high priority" with no resources or executive support. - As the other reviews have indicated, the entire engineering organization is a mess. There was no product executive for 8 months and currently there is no CTO. Even if you do not work in engineering, the lack of quality leadership and engineering standards permeates the organization - releases have major bugs and core processes are at capacity or breaking. It' is unrealistic to say that bugs or infrastructure issues will never occur, but the rate at which they do is extremely alarming for a company whose business model is predicated on moving large sums of personal money on a daily basis. - The standard for hiring is extremely poor. There are some incredibly bright individuals, but they will have to work with a lot of less-than-stellar employees. - The company has absolutely no culture and it shows -- nobody is excited to really be working on anything. Prosper also does not invest in learning or professional development for its employees. There are no off-sites, team events, or events to give back to the community.
