Vantaggi
Publicolor is a nonprofit with a founder and president dedicated to advancing the mission of her organization. She has high expectations of herself, the students she serves, and the staff who are involved in programming, operations and development. You will be asked to work hard and give 110% because that is what the students involved in this program deserve. When the day is over you can leave confident knowing that whatever your role is at Publicolor, you are contributing to a student's success. Publicolor invests in its staff and it is not uncommon for management to have staff pursue new opportunities at the organization more in line with their career goals and skills. I was hired to do one job but the founder and president saw potential in me to take on a new role with significantly more responsibility and it not only helped develop me professionally but helped change the trajectory of my career. A true testament to how much Publicolor invests in its home talent is the number of current employees who graduated from the program. Your colleagues are all very nice. Programming staff have incredible energy! I may not know much about color theory but what I will say is the colorful design of the office sure brightened my mood. Publicolor is a great place. I actually ended up donating my last paycheck back to Publicolor because I believe so strongly in what they do and the people there who are doing it.
Svantaggi
Publicolor has an "open office" floor plan which I personally found challenging. Open offices are very common at many companies and organizations of all types and sizes. It was not for me and was incredibly detrimental to my productivity.
