Vantaggi

It is located on Union Square if you think that is important. Also, compared to other design studios, Punchcut is very well organized.

Svantaggi

This place has to be the most sterile work environment I ever worked in. You are discouraged from talking loudly in the office. Coworkers are impersonal and just sit at the computers all day long. Also management is secretive and do not trust their employees. They also micromanage too much and at times can be too organized.

Vantaggi

I worked at Punchcut as a flex Sr. Visual Experience Designer for around 2 years. It was an incredible learning experience, and I got the opportunity to collaborate on some exciting client projects. Punchcut was always so supportive, and they valued the unique skills and perspectives of every creative. I worked on a wide range of projects across different industries, and collaborated with talented project managers, researchers, strategists, UX designers, interaction designers, visual designers, and illustrators. The quality of work was always top notch, and Punchcut’s design process was extremely solid. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them, and always felt like I was part of a team, even as a contractor. I had fun meeting Punchcut members in their SF office over lunch or during events like Config, and during their neighborhood social gatherings. They have an encouraging people culture that emphasizes their employee’s wellbeing. I highly recommend Punchcut as a product design agency for any creative wanting to grow professionally.

Svantaggi

Like many agencies, the nature of the projects were more short-term, and it required being flexible to help out where and when support was needed. For certain projects, there were some weeks where only 50% of my time or less was needed. Sometimes, the expectations of the different responsibilities could've been clearer from the get-go.
