Purplebricks is amazing for vendors and buyers but horrid to work for. I was on a 30 hour contract (Part Time) on a £14,004 annual salary. Considering I was "part time", I was working from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to sleep. As I was the only person covering a rather large area , I was unable to fully enjoy any spare time or days off as there was always a problem to solve. I was also forced to attend viewings when I called in sick with sinusitis and on my days off. I'd be having messages all hours of the night... a 3am message from a vendor asking me to meet them at 6am the same day is a particularly memorable one. I was also expected to work alone, in the dark, during unsociable hours which is far too dangerous for anybody these days. Purplebricks show no empathy to their staff and the issues they face as I was always told to "just get on with it". A lot of people saw me as their 24/7 personal assistant which wasn't the case as I was dealing with 20+ properties over a 30+ mile area. Vendors and buyers would speak to me as if I was dirt on their shoe. They do not cover fuel costs which was devastating with the fuel rises and pay only 15p-25p per mile you drive. They also cover no costs to your car so good luck if you break down etc. I was on less than minimum wage (again, devastating with the fuel costs and cost of living crisis) and commission was made very hard to get. The progression is near enough impossible with very few paths to move upwards in the business. Purplebricks has also announced that they are making many staff members redundant just before Christmas. I am so glad I left when I did, I am also aware of lots of other members of my old team leaving too. Over all, the pay is poor, the hours are too much, there is no reward for good performance and no benefits to the job, they're liable to lay you off with next to no warning, your car mileage will soar with nothing to show for it and you will get abuse left right and centre.
