Push Doctor has always had so much potential, but unfortunately there's a lack of responsible direction from the top leadership. There has been so many projects worked on that went nowhere, because no market research was done, so PD didn't actually know if there was an appetite for any of this but continued developing the products. One product even had staff hired specifically for it, before it was stopped because the leadership finally realised it wasnt viable. The CEO left in July under hushed circumstances, and this was followed by a badly handled redundancy process, getting rid of around 40 staff. Id like to believe in the new leadership being better, but what weve seen so far doesn't show this. Although redundancies happen, they've been vague throughout this whole process, and although they've wanted to seem as though there is a clear direction for the companys future, it doesn't seem much different from what weve been doing all along. As for the laid back 'start up' culture at Push Doctor, it's more restricted than you think. When joining, we were sold in on e.g.. flexible working. The place isn't flexible, you're not allowed to leave even 5 mins early. People work a lot of over time, but can't leave a few minutes earlier when needed. This has created an environment where staff doesn't feel trusted by the HR function and the leadership. HR has throughout the last year sent out engagement surveys, and had HR 121s with staff to ask what they can do better. We didn't see any real improvement from these, other than strange engagement office activities like "national selfie day".
