Direct line management is great and caring. Other members of the engineering department truly care and are highly passionate about creating a good platform for the patients. Great flexibility - can work around life commitments. Push Doctor it's self is a great idea.

Tries to do too many things at once resulting in no one thing being done well. No focus from upper management on direction of business result in frequent fundamental changes in business plans. This results in a code base with lots of technical debt and dead code. No time given to address technical debt or architect solutions which create a solid base to build off of. When things do change there is little time to do them. This puts a lot of pressure on the engineering team. I can't fully speak for other departments but it feels like the engineering team takes the brunt. Staff members were allowed to work for 4 weeks straight with no weekends. This was not mandatory, but still not a healthy way to run a team. CTO caused about 50% of his staff to leave due to lack of respect for anyone's opinion but his mate from a previous company and generally treating / talking to staff like crap. The rest of the upper management let this go on for over a year before finally doing something about it when about 6 members of team handed in their notice.

With the opportunities we have internally to discuss feedback ( Tech Townhalls, Company meetings, fortnightly anonymous engagement survey, Monthly one to ones and exit interview, etc) it is a shame this hadn't been raised in order for us to review and discuss your concerns. Please note the overtime you are referring to was paid at a rate and was not mandatory, this was in order to release a very important part of our product, and ultimately there to react to the current pressures due to Covid19.
