The pay was decent when you got paid appropriately.

The engineers are overworked and underpaid. On top of that, the president talks down to everyone and doesn't take a lick of responsibility for the lack of training. He also blatantly says things like "it's only money" to his underpaid employees. When I was there, the longest an engineer had been working there was only 5 years.

If you communicate and manage your time, this company is a great place to work. I have not had any issues since I started the first part of 2025.

Pay is not bad. Benefits are only ok. Management is pretty good except for the CEO. If you aren't engineering or management, you'll typically not have to deal with the CEO, which is good because everybody else is great.

There is no training whatsoever, and in this industry, training is needed. Any new hire is thrown directly into the fire and is expected to react with expertise and will take the heat if things don't go well. The turnover is extremely high, both in the shop and in the office. For example, no one in engineering has been here longer than 4 years, with most all being hired in the last year. The CEO treats his employees like dogs, barking madly at them and scolding them like children. He also can never be wrong; it is a huge mistake to even attempt to correct him because he thinks way too highly of himself. All in all, there are far better jobs with much better atmospheres, working conditions, and management than QB Johnson.
