1) Lack of diversity at the top (i.e. no women in leadership positions) 2) Long history of promoting from within has created an inbred culture of executives who cannot see the world from different perspectives. As a result, the company is slow to respond to industry changes. 3) Top-heavy organizations have too many thinkers (making the big bucks) and not enough do-ers (making much less, but carrying the majority of the workload) 4) Wastes money on the wrong things (i.e. huge corporate branding campaigns instead of meaningful product marketing)
