Each team member is selected through a very rigorous process that is valuable for both sides. Successful final interviews are almost as great as the unsuccessful, which are very few (lots of filters). The team is like a family, lots of empathy, support and freedom. Complete flexibility of schedule, objective driven, async. A good setup for remote, with plenty opportunity to meet in person on demand. Each project is a challenge, it demands research, planning, execution, QA, delivery and support. The team owns all aspects in a flat hierarchy, where experience of particular individuals decides who leads. Projects have scopes that range from hours to months.

It may not be for everyone. Each questee is a high performing individual with lots of database systems development, in several programming languages, at a very low level... But also providing tooling, integration libraries, while continuously building a cloud where customers can use the product. While a large OSS community is supported and engaged.

After more than 10 years working in finance it feels like getting out to the fresh air. Small team, no politics, no "business", technology first. Team is good, the effort people put into the work is very transparent. People don't try to be better than everyone by putting everyone down. It is not a zero sum game as it usually is where IT is a cost centre, if company does good everyone wins. And it's open source! Everything you do will stay with you as long as you want.

Again, it's a startup. There is very short notice to be fired so if you are not confident you can deliver better not to trade your current place for QuestDB. There are also some geeky element to what is done here, if you are tired of the technology it is also not a good place to be.
