Vantaggi
Remote: The greatest perk is the flexibility of 100% remote work. A lot of the other companies I applied to had told me they were remote, only later to say I could only be in my state when I worked, or I couldn't work a few days abroad. Here we are totally remote, which helps when I want to take a mini vacation but don't want to use PTO. Opportunities: Being a startup, there's lots of potential for professional growth. If I'm interested in another department, I just have to ask my manager who would be the best to reach out to, and they will make it happen. It doesn't always turn into something, but at least I get the opportunity. Health Insurance: Insurance is well priced compared to my previous job. There's also a concierge service included that takes care of making sure you can get things covered that weren't initially covered in the benefits. I used it to lower my medication copay and didn't have to do much. Startup: If you have a good idea, it's easy for it to get picked up and started. It doesn't matter if you're a manager or a specialist as long as it makes sense and is implementable. You get more freedom in the ways you can solve problems and make things more efficient.
Svantaggi
Shift: In the CS department, we do have to work weekends and holidays. It's the norm in retail, but it'd be nice not to have to all the time or have half shifts more so you didn't have to use PTO. 401K: We don't currently have a match provided, but we were told that that's hopefully coming soon. Startup: There is a constant need to solve problems, which is a part of customer service but even more at a startup. I love to problem solve, so I like it, but if you're not a problem solver or can easily help identify what might become a problem, it will get tiring for you.
