Vantaggi

The company has such poor customer experience policies, quality issues, shipping issues etc. that customer service needs wont be going anywhere.

Svantaggi

If you notice a recent influx of reviews posted over the last 2 weeks its been prompted by the executive team's encouragement for positive feedback, which may not fully reflect the true workplace environment. Dig past the last two weeks and read the real reviews if you want to know what its like to work here. It's essential to discern the genuine experiences from those potentially influenced by this initiative. The leadership style of our VP of Customer Service, in particular, has been challenging. Her approach can be described as authoritarian, with a tendency to issue directives without consistent follow-through, leading to confusion and frustration within the team. This inconsistency is further exacerbated by public criticism in meetings, contributing to a workplace atmosphere that feels more punitive than supportive. The Director of Customer Support, closely aligned with the VP and brought in from a previous role, similarly exhibits a less-than-professional demeanor at times, including the use of inappropriate language and a dismissive attitude towards team members contributions and concerns. A notable issue within our team is the preferential hiring from a previous shared workplace, leading to a cliquish management environment disconnected from the rest of the team. This has not only affected the team dynamics but also the overall approach to leadership and support within the company. Compensation for management roles does not match the extensive experience required, with salaries lagging behind industry standards for similar positions, which diminishes the sense of value and appreciation for the work done. The lack of a structured HR department or a clear pathway for addressing workplace issues and concerns leaves many feeling unsupported and without a voice. Promotions and significant decisions often occur behind closed doors, without transparency or acknowledgment, which could otherwise foster a sense of achievement and team spirit. The leadership approach, characterized by a lack of consistent communication, recognition, and support, contrasts starkly with the collaborative and nurturing environments I have been part of in the past. The focus seems to be more on expanding the team size rather than on fostering a positive, efficient, and cohesive workplace culture. As I look towards future opportunities, I seek an environment that values transparency, respect, and genuine leadership.

First, thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback you’ve shared here. The CS team is a really valued part of Quince’s ecosystem and your voice matters a great deal in setting our culture up for success. Let me add some thoughts here by topic, below: - Customer Experience. We acknowledge the feedback you shared on our customer experience policies, quality issues, and shipping concerns. We are actively working to address these areas and sharing changes and evolutions to the way the team works on a weekly basis. - Leadership Style and Team Dynamics. Your concerns about CS Leadership style are noted. We recognize the need for more consistent follow-through and supportive management practices. We are committed to addressing unprofessional behavior and ensuring respectful and inclusive conduct. - Preferential Hiring. Your point on preferential hiring is completely noted! That said, referrals can be a strong way to bring in engaged talent. To your point, that shouldn’t lead to an internal culture that feels clique-y or segmented based on someone’s source employer. We’ll look into ways that may be showing up internally in the culture and intentionally work to ensure that behavior isn't present. - Compensation and HR Structure. We're excited to say Quince has been investing in it’s people function over the course of this year so your feedback was heard loud and clear! Regarding compensation, we’re actively reviewing and aiming to resurface with a compensation philosophy a little later this year that ensures fairness and competitiveness. Making sure we’re digesting and acting on your feedback is a priority to us. We’ve got an engagement survey out to the Customer Support team now - if you haven’t already, please take a moment to complete that. Additionally, please consider reaching out directly to peopleteam-us@onequince.com to discuss your experience further and work through solutions together.

Vantaggi

Quince has incredible growth outlook, kind employees, and some flexibility provided with a mainly remote environment. You will have opportunity here if you're ambitious and want to build. All levels are hands on and expected to be hands on. If you want to coast, this place isn't for you.

Svantaggi

Benefits are lacking due to being a start up. Sounds like the company has plans to add to the value proposition.

Vantaggi

It's a fast growing brand with lots of VC backing

Svantaggi

The culture at Quince is relentlessly metrics-driven with little regard for the people behind those numbers. Goals and targets are set at near-impossible levels and discussed openly across the team — if you miss, you're put on blast. If you hit, the targets are quietly raised the next month. There is no winning, only surviving. Performance recognition is completely one-sided. Strong results are ignored; any dip — even the day after a major sale event like Black Friday — triggers urgent escalation from leadership. It creates a culture of anxiety rather than motivation. Workload and scope creep are constant. Responsibilities are regularly added to your plate without discussion or acknowledgment. Taking PTO means you're still expected to check in and attend meetings and are made to feel guilty for being unavailable. There is absolutely no work-life balance here! Benefits are minimal. Beyond health insurance and possible equity, there is very little on offer. For a company at this scale and valuation, the overall compensation package does not reflect the workload or expectations placed on employees. Onboarding is nearly nonexistent. You are expected to perform at full capacity almost immediately with minimal ramp time or support, which is difficult in a remote environment. The environment is competitive in an unhealthy way — individual metrics are emphasized over team growth, which breeds distrust rather than collaboration. Last-minute decisions from leadership are the norm, particularly around major promotions and campaigns, consistently forcing late nights and rushed execution. If you thrive under extreme pressure with no safety net, this may work for you. For most people, it is not sustainable.
