Ability to gain wide array of experience working within the architecture industry. There was a good atmosphere when management was not present.

Retention rate is slim to none. Compensation fluctuates at owners discretion and is never distributed on time. Employees are given poor project criteria and lack of direction. Employees are told to just enough to get the building permit even if it is not the best quality. The blame will always be put on subordinates even though it may be because of management's failure to communicate effectively and involve themselves in the project.

Owner travels a lot so is never around

A nightmare. Owner promises pay (which isn't even min wage)and then doesn't pay you that amount, he will pay what "he feels" you deserve which is whatever mood he is in. In order to get pay you have to hunt him down every 2 weeks and hope that he even CAN pay you. Since his business is literally run out of a garage he sometimes doesn't have money so cant pay his emplyees. And he sends pay with Quickpay so you will never see any check stubs since he pays everyone under the table to avoid paying taxes. He has 2 businesses and has absolutely no clue how to run either one. 2-3 hour conference calls and lists upon list and spreadsheets every week that result in nothing. Clients get upset over pricing and being scammed and he makes his employees face them rather than face them himself.
