Vantaggi

Company pays well and has good PTO. Great company if you are self motivated and don’t need a lot of guidance. Excellent opportunities to advance. Hard workers are rewarded. I also had a lot of bonus opportunities!

Svantaggi

If you need a lot of direction or are not a self motivated info this company is NOT for you. Health benefits are extremely expensive!!!! I have read a lot of the bad reviews saying R1 does not care about there employees or comments about working holidays… please note R1 is a consulting company who employs people for hundreds of hospitals across the nation. Your manager may oversee more than one facility so they are not always present. Also remember many employees are working directly in hospitals that don’t EVER close!! They need staff 24/7. If you are on an analytics or IT team sometimes there are emergencies that need to be worked because you are supporting 24/7 hospitals. R1 does like standardized models that may not always work in every situation. Sometimes that can be challenging especially when leaders are not always present to problem solve.

Vantaggi

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Svantaggi

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
