My experience with Rationale was deeply disappointing. I joined expecting a professional environment with high standards and clear expectations. Instead I often felt singled out and subjected to a level of scrutiny that did not seem to be applied consistently. Over time it became difficult to shake the feeling that I was being judged more harshly than others for the same issues and expected to meet standards that were not enforced equally across the team. The role itself was enjoyable. I believed in the brand and genuinely enjoyed working with clients. The challenge was the culture I experienced around me. Feedback often felt focused on fault finding rather than development and I rarely felt supported to succeed. Concerns I raised did not leave me feeling heard and there was little effort to address the impact the situation was having on me. What I found most frustrating was the inconsistency. Expectations seemed to shift depending on the circumstances and I was frequently left feeling confused about where I stood. The experience gradually became more stressful than rewarding. I cannot speak for every employee's experience. I can only speak for my own. I left feeling that I had not been treated fairly and that decisions affecting me were not always made objectively. The products are excellent and the brand has earned its reputation. Unfortunately my experience did not reflect the same standard.

There is strong loyalty to staff who will "keep up the status quo" and act in accordance with the top-level staff and founder's at times chaotic beliefs. The internal culture will leave you feeling gaslighted, and raises aren't proportionate to work output or ethic or even held to a standard across the board re timings of delivery. If you don't fit, you'll be made to feel like you don't and squeezed out. Felt like high school all over again in my particular department, even though management was much more senior and should have handled requests with more professionalism.
