Important: this is a review of Rena North America in Albany, Oregon. I know nothing about the German parent company in terms of employment. Above all is poor middle and upper management. The upper management is unilaterally responsible for the loss of many, many valuable and key employees, many of which had been with the company for a long time. It’s their (misguided) way or the highway, and the decisions never pay off. The following left or got fired within a year after the installment of current upper management: five dept managers, two machinists, two electrical techs, two mechanical engineers, a process engineer, two shipping and receiving staff. Many of these people were huge hits for the company when they left Lots of sneaky tactics to attempt to keep employees happy like promises of raises or bonuses or titles that are never fulfilled. Really weak show of employee appreciation. Team building consisted of a holiday party held on the shop floor where everyone gets a throw away item from Amazon as a gift and a free sandwich for lunch maybe two or three times a year. They don’t have yearly reviews, they have “check ins” which are named so and explicitly described as not an opportunity to negotiate salary or a raise. This is one of those companies where you won’t get anything without asking for it even if you are doing outstanding.
