My experience at RPM Living was extremely disappointing. Management lacked consistency and professionalism, and expectations changed depending on the day or the person. Management constantly spoke as if they knew everything, always had an answer, and would brush off concerns instead of actually listening. Any attempt to ask questions or get clarification was often met with a dismissive tone, which made it difficult to do the job effectively. Expectations were inconsistent and seemed to change depending on the situation, and routine issues were turned into formal documentation, often directed at the same people while others were overlooked. Support from leadership was minimal. Instead of providing direct answers, I was often redirected to internal resources, which slowed down work and made it harder to meet expectations in a fast-paced leasing environment. At the same time, the workload continued to increase with little structure or prioritization, setting employees up to fail rather than succeed. The workplace culture was also a major issue. There were multiple instances where the way I spoke was mocked or imitated, which created an uncomfortable and unprofessional environment. Communication from management could come off as dismissive and lacking basic respect, which made it difficult to ask questions or seek clarification when needed. On top of that, PTO approval was inconsistent despite having 80+ available hours, and compensation practices lacked transparency. Compensation practices were another major concern. There was a lack of transparency around pay and how commissions were determined, and getting a clear explanation was unnecessarily difficult. At the end of the day, I was not paid commissions I had earned for multiple completed move-ins, and despite multiple follow-ups with HR. I was met with vague responses and no real resolution. Overall, this was a workplace where accountability was not applied evenly, communication was poor, and employees were not set up for success. I would strongly caution anyone considering a role here to ask detailed questions about management structure, expectations, and compensation before accepting an offer.

The company is very big on promoting from within and actively encourages internal growth. There is a wealth of information available through the various courses they offer, which allows you to gain a significant amount of industry knowledge if you are self-motivated.

While the resources are there, the culture is very much "figure it out on your own." Leadership often points you toward the Knowledge Network rather than providing actual hands-on guidance or support. Additionally, there is a lack of transparency with clients; it often feels like you are "co-managing" rather than truly managing the asset because so much is withheld from the owners. It is also extremely difficult to move underperforming staff out, which creates a drag on the rest of the team.
