The company uses this gutless strategy rather than thoughtful, targeted headcount reduction to meet numbers. - Culture of blame and finger-pointing that originates from top levels of leadership - Poor, expensive healthcare benefits - While some of the old guard employees have long-term incentives like pension plans, newer employees hired within the last ~10 years do not. - Layoffs and RIF through attrition occur in successful business units to offset poor performance in unrelated, unsuccessful business units - The reward for high performing employees is simply more work, maybe +2% annual bonus payout, and +1-2% pay increase. This incentives low performance and a lack of accountability due to such a small delta between high and low performers.
