Vantaggi

This year marks my 20th anniversary of working at TMP Worldwide and in looking back over the years, TMP truly has been my second family. The support, opportunity and loyalty I've experienced over the years from this company has been unwavering, and I am grateful for every moment of my time here. Here are my top 5 Pros: - My coworkers now and over the years are some of the best friends I have ever had. They're funny (at times irreverent), supportive, collaborative, loyal and trustworthy -- they're the people I'd CHOOSE to be down in the trenches with. - I work with incredibly insightful, smart and savvy people, true knowledge experts in their various subject matter areas, who are always more than willing to share their knowledge and help solving client or internal challenges. - Because TMP has more of an entrepreneurial environment, I've been able to work on a variety of projects, problem-solve in innovative, unconventional ways, travel to and work in many different TMP offices around the globe. I've lived in Boston, San Francisco and New York, and gone on short-term assignments in cities like London and Amsterdam. - I’ve had the privilege of watching this company evolve over the years, from a recruitment ad agency to a software solutions provider, through economic booms and recessions, through acquisitions and spin-offs. I watched as market and technology influences shaped who we were as a company, and marveled that all along the way, we have remained nimble enough to continue to change and adapt. Were there growing pains along the way? Of course, but from my vantage point of longevity, I realized that senior management always had their eyes on the trees without losing sight of the forest. - When life changes have arisen in my life, TMP has been so sensitive and accommodating to my needs -- when I had children, I was able to move into a role with a flexible schedule. When my brother passed away, I was able to take as much time as I needed to spend time with him, and many coworkers as well as the CEO of our company were so kind and contributed to the memorial fund for him.

Svantaggi

As with any family, we have lots of good times, and sometimes we have days that can be frustrating or overwhelming. There have been individuals in management positions at the local office level who have, in the past, negatively impacted the environment of that office. BUT, since then, Senior Management has done a great job of identifying the bad apples and putting new, more effective managers in place. No company is perfect, and the bumps in the road I’ve experienced here a) are usually fleeting, and b) serve as learning experiences that help me grow as both an employee AND a person. Most times, though, I just look forward to coming into work to catch up with my coworkers, dig into a new project, meet new people and learn something new.

Vantaggi

Great place to grow, flexible with family matters and a good work life balance. Learned a lot. Flexible time off is a good perk.

Svantaggi

The rebrand removed a lot of personality from the company which made it hard to service legacy clients.

Vantaggi

The people and direct coworkers were genuinely supportive and collaborative. Many employees were dealing with similar challenges, which created a strong sense of teamwork and willingness to help each other. Despite broader organizational issues, most teams worked hard and tried to support one another however they could.

Svantaggi

Leadership doesn’t seem to have a clear direction for the company, so priorities and decisions were constantly changing. A lot of decisions would get made and then completely reversed a few months later, which made it hard to feel confident in anything long term. There were also a lot of staffing and restructuring changes without proper training or support, so people were basically expected to figure things out as they went. The company became very focused on enforcing in-office policies and making sure people were physically at their desks, while employees hadn’t received raises in years despite heavier workloads and inflation. That disconnect was really discouraging and definitely contributed to burnout. Burnout was something constantly talked about across teams, but it rarely felt like anything meaningful was done to actually support employees or improve workloads. A lot of employees were also expected to sell or support products they didn’t fully believe in, which made it hard to feel set up for success from the beginning.
