Great place to work - Recensione dipendente - SPA Therapist presso Ragdale Hall Spa

A great spa, lovely workplace, with food included, plus free travel for those who need it, great staff, and some access to facilities. Pay is also competitive. Another plus is one lovely owner in Michael Isaacs. He Remembers everyone’s name and retains a vested interest in the company.

Cliques galore among staff which could easily be remedied with good management. Which is to say that very poor management is in operation, particularly middle management, in my experience, in food and beverage. From this there is a trickle down effect: some people are allowed weekends off, others not. Some are given more mornings than evenings and vice versa. There are very poor and outmoded attitudes young people and towards women in particular. Cultural differences should not be an issue in 2022. Condescension, arrogance, ignorance, and inappropriate behaviour also exists. It’s essentially hospitality frozen in time.

I can't think of one good thing to say about Ragdale.

- Not allowed to take your full break. - When you say no to overtime the manager ignores you for days or weeks afterwards. Then takes you into his office to tell you your not helping the team or any good because you won't work extra hours. - The manager acts inappropriately. HR know but choose to let it carry on. - HR ignore issues - HR don't support staff before 12pm, so you best hope you don't have any issues before then. - no training. - low pay - always short staffed so it's very stressful - no extra pay for working Christmas, instead you get a pair of socks...
