This company used to be one of the pioneers in web development in the country. It even had its own online gadget shop and review website (Search CgeNa.com in Facebook to get a brief historical context). It’s one of the earliest companies in the country to offer to you a presence in cyberspace and it even made the website for a certain well-known IT college during the WWW boom back in the beginning of this century. This company has always been courageous enough to sell something that no one has ever offered before. You'll be forced to research, experiment and do things on your own in order to achieve that. You'll have the support of the management as long as they can sell something out of it. Well, the best thing here as someone else mentioned is the experience. You’ll learn to work independently in this company. Mentorship is only minimal until you get the bare basics of your job, then you’ll have the freedom of solving problems your own way. They just focus on getting things done and in order to do so, they avoid your typical corporate bureaucracy of multiple approvals when it comes to implementing changes or doing something new in a project. In here, you can focus more on your creativity as you’re not bound by any strict framework when it comes to doing your job. I also have to mention that this company has a lot of talented and resourceful people in it, from the creatives to its developers.

The company has forgotten its roots of being a computer technology company and has deviated away to other fields to focus more on what "sells". It has always kept the name "Computer Technology" even though it has already lost its focus on software development and has ventured into other areas, from Digital Advertising, Marketing Campaigns, BTL events to Microsoft Office certifications. What sort of company is it? Ask its employees that question and they’ll give you different answers. Mainly, it's a marketing company now. Probably the two biggest cons here are low pay and the toxic workplace. Inter-office gossip, factionalism, jealousy and power tripping are more prevalent here than in your typical company. Lots of drama happening among employees and sometimes you can’t avoid being pulled into them. Favoritism is also rampant, a little special treatment between the favorites every now and then might seem normal in other organizations but it occurs more often than that in this company. Tolerating the attitude problems of veteran employees or their favorites is also an issue here. From time to time, working in this place makes you feel like you’re back in high school! In terms of software development, one team is assigned to multiple projects and not the other way around. This lead us to focus more on juggling to closing these projects rather than improving on the ways on how we work. The development department has been left behind. They could have grown more and learned more by working on a single product that they can own instead of working on different projects with each one requiring to understand a different set of business processes. They lack a QA department and there’s even no BA. What else, no standard when it comes to equipment and low pay? We developers are also the de facto tech support by the way.
