The people are the best feature of Rampart. Being a small company you get to interact with everyone on a daily basis. Everyone is incredibly friendly and happy to help with work related questions/roadblocks, as well as just chat. Even as we grow larger people still do everything possible to keep everyone working together and communicating. Something that really does become a problem in larger companies. In a close second is the tech itself. Rampart has some astounding technical ideas that are quite literally breaking new scientific ground. The founders of the company happen to also be the ones leading it from the technical side (CTO and CRO). I personally love this setup because it ensures that the direction of the company from a tech standpoint isn't misguided by business minded leaders. Rampart also has a very relaxed work environment. Not meaning that we just sit around all day doing nothing, but that we get to be people. We aren't just cogs in a machine that clock in and out. We get to chat with each other, have talks twice a month about whatever topics, play games, and have lunch together. It's a very friendly and happy environment! As a final note, the management completely understands that this is ground breaking technology. They make sure that those in charge of turning the ideas into physical reality have everything necessary to accomplish their tasks. Not just from a physical tech (computers, FPGA hardware, soldering setups, etc) standpoint, but also development time. Too many places make arbitrary deadlines and then pressure the staff to working extra hours to meet a deadline that the business side came up with in a vacuum. Rampart leadership talks with everyone involved and ensures that we all agree on how much time will be required.

Honestly there aren't any complaints from me. Being forced to pick something, I would say that as a startup there are very few tightly defined roles. Most of the time this is a great thing for me personally (I love doing most any Engineering task). But on rare occasions it can get a little overwhelming. Even in those times the solution is as simple as talking to someone about shifting a goal or two.
