I worked for a company for 2and 1/2 years until an angry girlfriend had me arrested for domestic assault. I was on parole and went back to prison for a year. I was told by my former employer that I could come back but would have to start over as a temp. I went to apply with Randstad and it took more than 2 weeks for the background check to come back. I didn't go for the domestic case until 13 months after the co called incident. It was dismissed. The background came back as a no so I appealed and the second time I was told I could work for Randstad. I pursued a job with my old employer and was told by Randstad that I couldn't be sent there. After a month I was called about a job in another city. After meeting with them they said I have a restriction and couldn't go to that job either. I have yet to be told what this restriction is and how to remove it. They do not call with any other possible jobs. When you fill out a job application it ask if you have been convicted of a felony in the past 7 years. Not Randstad. They ask if you have ever been convicted of a felony period. My belief (and I have talked to others in a similar situation) is that these people hold anything against you that they can. My felonies are 16 years old. I went through a different temp agency in 2013. Since I applied through Randstad this time I can't reapply with the other place. They aren't offering any answers or solutions.
