In hindsight, there were none.

No cohesion within the team. An air of arrogance amongst the majority of staff. Very limited support for junior members of the team, yet high expectations on the work produced. Not a very inspiring range of projects. The head of planning operated on a basis of instilling fear in his employees, of which I was told was 'normal' and 'what he does to everyone new'. Judgement if you were not at your desk, no flexibility or trust (albeit this was before the pandemic). Very much an old boys club. I did think off the back of this that it would create a sense of camaraderie between the women in the office but I found was a dog-eat-dog environment with little sense of community or support.

Would genuinely struggle to think of any.

This has been one of the worst companies I’ve worked for. There is little to no career progression, and the environment is dominated by micro-management. You have to push repeatedly just to get issues acknowledged. Pay is inconsistent, with minimal pay rises. Junior staff are taken advantage of, and the company is extremely top-heavy.

Always seeking feedback from employees. Listen to their employees, most recently relocating the London Office to provide a more suitable environment. Recently introduced a new benefits package labelled 'The People Plan' which sets out private health care insurance, car allowance, maternity and paternity leave, birthdays off and a extra wellbeing day off. They have their employees in mind. Senior colleagues are always happy to assist with questions and will help provide solutions. A good work life balance. If you are looking to work for a SME, this is the place.
