Vantaggi

Chilled out work environment, unlimited leave, my team were great.

Svantaggi

Used to be a great company but in the last 9 months has had some notable internal failures and miss-handling, due in part to the below: 1) Junior people doing roles way above their skills set but the company is too cheap to employ the correct skills set to take the business where it needs to be, a more experienced workforce would have a vision to fix the many internal problems that cause so many bottlenecks, problems that are preventing the business from really becoming a next gen cloud company, they are mostly just another app company, they sell the vision of being the all-knowing hub when in reality they can't even tell who the users are half the time. ADVICE: Get some staff that know what they are doing in key roles - Project management, operations, BI/AI and you'll get there. 1) Legacy staff - similar to the above, they have a few people that have been at the company for a while who joined as juniors and who have just stagnated, unfortunately these people hold a lot of sway with the business owners so get away with carrying on as normal and not thinking outside of the box (mainly because they have never been outside of the box - > straight out of Uni to LiveStyled) they are not pushing the business forward - they started to make some key hires about a year ago and it felt like the business was being driven forward with these "new thinkers" but the legacy staff didn’t get on board and they are back to being a mickey mouse app company that sells the odd LP wall clock. 2) The CEO - Good guy, has the vision and drive to be the next big thing, I'd really question how much power he actually has, on paper he owns it, but look at the books, I'd gain clarity as to who internally holds the power following investment from within. 3) Bullying - on the face of the company it doesn’t seem like this is a problem, but sit amongst them for a while and you'll notice that certain team members are constantly berated for not having done something or humiliated in public by calling out their failures - but the company won't do anything to analyse why these "failures" keep happening, so it goes around and around like a circle of madness. 4) MONEY - some months I felt like I was not going to be paid as money was tight, this was never the case, but as a start-up they really do push things to the wire and I often heard things like "let's hope client X pays us today so we can pay everyone"

Regrettably this “review” is full of inaccuracies and misleading commentary from an embittered ex-colleague. On a professional level it is hugely disappointing to see such a public outburst. But moreover I feel upset and angry on a personal level that anyone would say these horrible things about our brilliant team. So as to prevent external misconceptions and also to demonstrate to our team that we could not disagree more vehemently with these comments, I have laid out below the key areas in which this account is utterly wrong: 1) “I worked at LiveStyled full-time (More than a year)” Firstly, you did not work for us for more than a year. You have said that to try and imply that you are a more credible source than you really are. You were in fact dismissed within your 6-month probationary period due to non-performance and consistent failure to meet your objectives. 2) “Used to be a great company but in the last 9 months has had some notable internal failures” In the last 9 months we have achieved more than in the whole of our previous history as a business. We have signed deals with some of the biggest names in entertainment, brought on £1.5m of investment, doubled the size of the team and we are well on the way to executing on our vision. 3) “Junior people doing roles way above their skills set but the company is too cheap to employ the correct skills set to take the business where it needs to be” We give people a lot of responsibility very quickly, and we make no apology for that. In fact we’re very proud of it. If someone is talented and ambitious, we don’t mind how old or how experienced they are. It’s not out of a desire to save money – it’s about believing in people and giving them a chance to shine. This is at the heart of everything we do and will continue to be so. It’s true that there are some key roles in the business which are being carried out by people who have never held any other job, but I regard that as a monumental success story. One of the most satisfying aspects of running a company is to see brilliant young people advance their career and grow with the business. 4) “they can't even tell who the users are half the time” This is a meaningless statement. Some users choose to share their details with our platform, others don’t. You can never know who all your users are. 5) “CEO – I'd really question how much power he actually has” Thank you for your concern, I’m touched – but I am perfectly comfortable with my level of “power” so really you needn’t trouble yourself on my account <*he says whilst stroking a white cat in a swivel chair and quietly chuckling to himself about world domination*. 6) “Bullying” This couldn’t be further from reality. It’s like you were working for a different company altogether to the one which I know. We proactively foster a very inclusive and democratic company culture, and people are always invited to speak their minds. As a small business, if individuals aren’t meeting their objectives then it does become clear very quickly, but we certainly don’t “publicly humiliate” people. Any performance management or disciplinary processes are conducted in a private 1-on-1 setting. 7) “Money” As you have no knowledge of the company’s finances you are not qualified to comment on this subject. You’ve said yourself that you were always paid on time. Therefore this remark can only be a blatant and cynical attempt to damage our reputation. We have undergone extensive due diligence processes both as part of tenders for new client contracts and our current investment round, and these people would not be dealing with us if they were not satisfied with our financial situation. 8) “Advice to Management - Part company with the legacy staff” If I want advice, I will (and frequently do) ask my team, my board, shareholders, clients, customers and partners. I will most certainly not be looking for tips on our company's future from someone who failed probation and then chose to vent their anger in a public forum. I am incredibly proud of what our so-called “legacy staff” have achieved and will defend them – and all of our team – from this thoroughly unpleasant and inaccurate portrayal. Frankly I think it’s a disgraceful way to speak of your former colleagues, who work hard and do a fantastic job. The real irony of all of this is that if what you have stated here were true, you would be in breach of the post-termination confidentiality provisions of your employment contract. But as it happens you have not disclosed any confidential information because everything you have said is false and a gross misrepresentation of our company. I am sorry that your employment with LiveStyled didn’t work out and I do wish you the best for the future. You should, however, be mindful and respectful of the people you work with who are trying to do the best job they can. Changing an industry is hard and, unfortunately, not everyone is up to to that task.

Vantaggi

- Fast-paced and dynamic working environment - A supportive and friendly team in a social and fun office - The chance to work with high profile clients across the entertainment and sports industries and involvement in adapting the product to suit these industries and client needs - Minimal micromanagement - being able to manage your own responsibilities and workload creates a trusting environment where everyone can work in their own way and still produce high-quality outcomes and make an impact - Lots of involvement in company decisions - ranging from new product ideas and vision to decisions on working policies and office spaces

Svantaggi

- Lots of ongoing projects (which isn't a bad thing) can sometimes cause misalignment on priorities. This has however got vastly better over the last 6 months thanks to more resource and strategy across the board - Due to the nature of the industries we work in, the hours can occasionally be demanding at busy times however the results are always rewarding and time can be claimed back in lieu if required
