The people! I met some amazing people at RV. Some very professional people with impressive resumes, who I am in touch with today, who are about to quit without notice. Mainly sales agents with the exception of one or two professional managers. This is a great first sales job for those just out of college with no internship or work experience in sales to leverage elsewhere or those with a HS diploma or equivalent trying to gain a little sales experience to add to their resume. This is also a great place to work if you're unemployed and need a job immediately. I applied to Red Ventures online out of curiosity and 5 min after I applied I received a callback, an interview and an offer. I'm glad I took the job because it led me to an even better job that I am so thankful for today. Again, great place to work if you're looking to get into sales and have no sales experience because you don't need to know how to sell to do this job. They will hire anyone. Anyone. No prior sales experience is needed. If you can read script verbatim and make it sound slightly conversational and avoid relationship building at all costs and follow call center 15 min break and 1 hour lunch rules and get lucky with your first 5 customers coming from the right channel and you close, you're in decent shape. You could be one of the few making the 40K of the 35-65K range promised in your interview. Contests are a great way to earn extra cash but again, if you're one of the few agents getting the qualified, sell-able leads out of the gates, you have a chance. Tropical Vacations, I heard were a great time, from the Managers. Great coffee. Pepsi and Coca Cola soda machine options, a plus. Discount at Donato's not so bad.

Svantaggi

Under-qualified Managers. They will hire anyone to compensate for the ridiculous turnover. They offer benefits after 90 days for a reason. Most respectful companies after 30 because they expect you will stay. Lack of empowerment given to the agents but all of the accountability of course. You are responsible and held accountable for unthinkable things far outside of your control and your income relies on all of those things. HR policies at RV are great if you enjoying feeling like you're in prison. I witnessed people getting fired almost weekly. I saw an agent give two-weeks notice during our busy season with all intentions on staying and performing and get walked out the door that day. If you have a bad week, you could be fired. If you call out sick, you could be fired. If you get stuck in traffic on your way back from lunch, you could be fired. If you don't read a word back to a customer verbatim, you could be fired. Too many variables involved in the job security here for the poor money received by 60% of the staff. I'm being generous with that number too. That's just in one business unit. I understand there needs to be an attendance policy. However, if you want the professionals to stay, treat them as professional business people, not babies. I think it's disrespectful to treat responsible adults this way. Using break time to urinate. Never again. Not being allowed to call a customer when I promised I would because call volumes were average. Never again. Losing sales for unnecessary reasons. Never again. Being tied to a headset like a dog to its leash in a backyard that runs forgetting its tied to its leash and suffers whiplash to become disappointed that he can't reach his water bowl after all. Never again. Working weekend nights and Sundays. Never again. Being treated like crap. Never again. Don't even bother calling out sick. Just come in and get the rest of the call center sick and see who else calls out first and gets fired. I was one of the many unfortunate good people stuck in a bad place due to economic or prior job situation, family or employment circumstance at the time. I should have know when I saw how extremely easy it was to get into this company. I should have known. Hang in there all you professionals.Things are changing fast out there in the business world and there are hundreds of sales jobs now available in the Charlotte area. Use Red Ventures as a stepping stone to a better career and more prosperous future because they have absolutely no problem using you while you are there.

Vantaggi

Strong ownership, opportunity to manage people early, great people, nice campus. You will work on interesting problems and external companies. Great training if the space interests you.

Svantaggi

Business future is uncertain, up or out management principles. New senior leaders somewhat disconnected from the day-to-day. Commute from Charlotte is horrible.
