Vantaggi
--Pay is pretty good (for Software/Data Engineers) --Access to several different tech stacks. Everything is pretty modern. You'll learn a lot. --Software and equipment requests are met immediately with a valid business case. --Promotions and raises are available if you get the ear of a "higher-up" and propose a profit-generating solution. --AWS, Azure, and On-Prem all in-play here. If you have one skill, you can learn two more.
Svantaggi
--The company may (or may not be) positioned for a sell-off. Members of the Board include Francisco Partners, who specialize in Divisional Buyouts. --Benefits and PTO are "industry standard" or worse. If you have a high annual healthcare or prescription cost, probably look elsewhere. --No CTO, or real direction on the tech side. Rapid acquisitions leads to a fragmented tech-space with a lot of politics taking the place of efficiency. --Not a ton of transparency from the CEO. The "All-Staffs" are few and far between and don't address the future of the company. No talk of IPO, probably positioning for acquisition, but who knows? They don't tell us. --I've never talked to my bosses' boss, which I find a bit strange. That's probably just poor leadership in my business unit though. No points deducted, just something to mention.
