This used to be a solid business with a strong reputation in the FX space. Since the current CEO stepped in and pushed everything under the Redpin brand, it’s been downhill. Strategy now revolves around one thing only — going public. It’s become so predictable that people joke about tallying how many times “IPO” gets mentioned during town halls. That pretty much sums up the culture at the top. Execution has fallen apart. Theirs is a “roadmap”, but no accountability, and no financial performance worth talking about. Yet somehow, those responsible are still in charge. The product team has been restructured with flashy CVs from big corporates. These hires may have pedigree, but they lack empathy and people skills. Conversations with managers have become transactional — more about reporting than supporting. There’s no time or interest in helping team members grow or even checking how people are doing. Unsurprisingly, those brought in to transform the function are already heading for the door. One has already gone, another is leaving, and the third seems to be biding time. Then there’s the redundancy pattern. Every three months, a handful of people are let go — carefully kept under twenty to avoid triggering formal processes. It’s a quiet cycle that’s now part of the operating model.

To keep this broad and anonymous, I was part of the technology team. This is one of the worst places I have ever worked. Management is consistently rude, tense, and unapproachable. Staff turnover is extremely high. In the same week I've joined, four people left, including senior and long standing employees. This appears to be the direct result of poorly executed changes introduced under the Redpin umbrella, which have undone years of work that built the business from the ground up. There is a severe lack of documentation, infrastructure knowledge, and training. Core systems break continuously, largely because the engineers who originally designed and maintained the infrastructure have all left. Since then, multiple new joiners have attempted to apply their own fixes before leaving as well, leaving the environment increasingly unstable and fragmented. No ITIL principles are followed. The workplace feels chaotic, with sudden changes, upgrades, and decisions made during working hours without proper planning or communication, causing frequent unexpected issues. Cost cutting measures have led to reliable, well established products and services being replaced with cheaper, less stable alternatives. Frontline staff are deeply unhappy. They work on a commission based structure, yet the new systems actively work against them, resulting in lost revenue. The overall culture is oppressive, with management discouraging any attempt to raise valid concerns. Employees are instead expected to cheerlead decisions that clearly lack common sense. The interview process is by far the longest and most invasive I have experienced, involving hours of back-to-back interviews followed by extensive third party scrutiny of your personal history. Be cautious of overly positive reviews, as they may not reflect the reality on the ground. If you value your mental health, I strongly recommend staying away. I would not recommend applying here to anyone.
